Should I go for B.S Comp Engineer degree in 5 years or swap to B.A CS to finish it in 4 years? : personalfinance

Hello, I’m in a dilemma whether I should finish and try to get my Comp Engineer degree in 5 years or swap to B.A CS get out the school 4 years, which what I’m doing right now to finish it 4 years. I went to university in the thought I will able to get Comp Eng degree in 4 years. But after some calculation it turned out I need to stay an extra year to finish the degree. I don’t mind stay 5 years if this is a public school, but the school I went to is a private university. The scholarship only covered 4 years, after that the tuition went back to normal which over $50k. Not going to lie, I really like the subject for Comp Engineer. I could take 4 summer classes but I landed an internship. I don’t want to give up on it since experience definitely more valuable later on. Sadly transfer out to in-state university is not an option either since we don’t have that many good state university for engineer in my state.

So loan if finished in 4 years is around 20k

an extra year would bump it up to 70k

What would you do if you were me, is it worth 70k debt for an engineering degree?
