Opening a bank account remotely with a long stay schengen visa? : eupersonalfinance

Hi everyone,

Long story short: I was going to relocate to France when the covid crisis broke out.

The enterprise I’ve signed contract with decided to go through with it and now I’m working remotely.

I have a long stay visa for France but I cannot move to the country until frontiers reopen.

I would like to avoid receiving the payments through my country’s financial system (Argentina) due to instability and forced conversions.

If I understand correctly, [this treaty](https://www.orbitax.com/news/archive.php/Protocol-to-Tax-Treaty-between-40377) means I do not need to pay taxes in Argentina (even though I’m currently living there).

Is there a way to open an EU account as a (temporarily) non-resident for my case and receive my salary in that account? The enterprise has asked me to provide an IBAN.
